We work exclusively on the basis of the German Freight Forwarders’ Standard Terms and Conditions 2017 (ADSp 2017). In clause 23, the ADSp 2017 limits the statutory liability for damage to goods in accordance with Section 431 of the German Commercial Code (HGB) amounting to 8.33 SDR/kg per claim or per damage case to 1.25 million/2.5 million euros or 2 SDR/kg, whichever is higher, and generally to 2 SDR/kg for transportation by a variety of transport means, including carriage of goods by sea.
